Saakashvili tries to undermine Russia by supporting terrorists - expert
Leonid Ivashov, a well-known Russian expert, president of Academy of Geopolitical Problems, accused the Georgian leaders of supporting North Caucasian terrorists.
"We are in hostile relations with Georgia. Besides, it's fueled by unfriendly to Russia states - the USA, Great Britain, Israel. They nourish Saakashvili and his regime, and the president of Georgia had to work this support off. Task number one for Tbilisi and its sponsors is undermining Russia's positions in Caucasus and Caspian region through destabilization of situation with the help of subversions and terrorist attacks," Ivashov said - Osinform.
In the view of the expert, now Russia must work out a clear plan of its actions in the region. "We must define what we want from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Abkhazia, Georgia, South Ossetia. Significant projects in the sphere of international security must be offered," he said.
After recent attack of terrorists on the parliament of Chechnya, the head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov, claimed that North Caucasian militants receive financing through the territory of Georgia. "Now militants have few sources of serous support - moral and financial. Previously they received finance and weapons through the territory of Georgia. Entire groups of bandits were sent via Georgia to Chechnya. And now it can be said that nearly the only source where they are assisted, where they are trained, remains Georgia," Kadyrov said.
Kadyrov said he has information youth is being recruited in Georgia to conduct subversive acts in Russia.
