Georgia’s on shameful 100th place in mass media freedom rating – opposition
Georgi Targamadze, the leader of Christian-Democratic Movement, believes the Speaker Bakradze's initiative on mass media transparency is closely connected with the rating of Reporters Without Borders.
Targamadze reminded that in the most recent report of this organisation Georgia was on 100th, "shameful" place.
"Unfortunately, our government always reacts on such ratings and doesn't pay attention to the objective criticism inside the country," the opposition leader highlighted.
The Christian-Democratic Movement leader is ready hail the initiative, but only of the authorities are really ready to change the situation in the country.
David Bakradze replied this initiative is only the "continuation of the reforms the government executed in democratic direction."
"If opposition connects my initiative with any ratings, I'm ready to appoint the second briefing and recall my initiative," the Speaker said.
