Saakashvili to sign the new Constitution
The Parliament of Georgia passes the new Constitution for president's signature - Postsoviet.info
Supported by the governing party [United National Movement] and the parliamentary majourity, it re-distributes authorities between power branches, reinforcing the role of the Prime Minister.
The law allows Saakashvili either sign the Constitution or return it to the Parliament with remarks Parliament would be obliged to discuss.
Opposition claims the document was adjusted to Saakashvili's desires to let him become the PM after the expiration of his second presidential term in 2013. By that time the Prime Minister would have primary levers of power.
