Suicidal refugee was offered dwelling in region
The Ministry for Refugee Affairs and Resettlement made a special statement over the suicidal attempt of Nana Pipia. The refugee had been offered dwelling, but in another region - Novosti-Gruzia.
"Up to 2000 Nana Pipia resided in Zugdidi [Samegrelo region, West Georgia], and then left for Tbilisi, to her relative. The Ministry offered her dwelling in the same region, but she refused," the statement says.
"Unfortunately, the Ministry cannot provide all refugees with dwellings in Tbilisi. It's physically impossible. The Ministry offers dwelling in regions to the refugees who have no place to live in," the document adds.
Yesterday Nana Pipia poured kerosene on herself and set on fire. Now she's in hospital in a grievous condition. Protesters demand the Ministry to give them dwelling in the capital, not in regions.
