Military cooperation of Baku and Ankara to be continued
Both Turkey and Azerbaijan intend to lift the cooperation in the defense industry to the new level, said Vecdi Gonul, the Minister of Defense of Turkey - 1news.az.
"Relations of Turkey and Azerbaijan are based on principle "one people - two states," Vecdi Gonul added.
Previously Ahmet Davutoglu, the Foreign Minister of Turkey, underlined that Ankara would support Azerbaijan's position in the process of Nagorno-Karabakh pacific settlement.
According to the data of Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, over recent 10 years Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan quintupled military expenditures.
From 1999 to 2008 military expenditures of Georgia grew from USD 40 mln to USD 650 mln; of Armenia - from USD 93 mln to USD 217 mln; of Azerbaijan - from USD 133 mln to USD 697 mln. Researchers believe it's connected with tensions in the region.
