Russian officer accused of espionage in Georgia’s favour

12318.jpegRussian Federal Security Service has detained a Russian officer suspected of espionage in favour of Georgia, Echo of Caucasus reports.


As was reported by the FSS Public Relations Center, Senior Lieutenant of one of the military units in Southern Military District David Aliyev, according to Russian special services,   collected secret information by order of the Georgian side.

The officer's mother Irina Aliyeva was also detained; she was to deliver the materials collected by her son to Georgia. Both of them are charged with high treason and placed under arrest, Russian FSS informed.
