Georgia’s foreign trade turnover in 2010 was 6.7 billion dollars

12723.jpegIn 2010, Georgia's foreign trade turnover was 6, 678 billion dollars (excluding unorganized trade), which is by 21% more than in 2009, Novosti Georgia reports.

The export that year was 1, 583 billion dollars (a 40% growth), while the import was 5, 095 billion dollars (a 17% growth). Georgia's negative trade balance amounted to 3, 512 billion dollars, which is by 9% greater than a similar figure last year.

In 2010, Georgia's foreign trade turnover with the CIS countries was 2,195 billion dollars, which is by 31% greater than in 2009. The export amounted to 644 million dollars (+ 55% ); the import - to 1, 551 billion (+ 24%). CIS countries account for 33% of the general foreign trade turnover in Georgia (in 2009, this figure was 30%) and 26% of Georgia's negative trade balance (= 26%).
