As reported by VZGLYAD, political secretary of the Labour Party Giorgy Gugava told that the protest action was organized by party leader Shalva Natelashvili who is paying a visit to the USA.
"The banners held by the participants of the action read the following in English and Georgian: "We demand resignation of Saakashvili the dictator", "Saakashvili - murderer", - Gugava told, having added that many representatives of the Georgian expatriate communities abroad are opposed to Saakashvili's regime.
Let us remind you that earlier, leader of the Labour Party of Georgia Shalva Natelashvili suggested that the Americans should "press" upon the Georgian authorities, so that they returned the right of free elections to the people of the country.
It is reported that Natelashvili met with Director for Eurasia of the National-Democratic Institute (NDI) Laura Jewett in Washington. "The party chairman paid attention to the activity of the American institutes acting in Georgia that are preparing a new mass falsification of elections organized by Washington lobbyists of Saakashvili's regime", - goes an appeal disseminated by the party's press-service.
Besides, the leader of the Labour Party presented several initiatives: it is necessary to make the participation in the elections obligatory, eliminate the institute of majority deputies; besides, one spokesman from each party should be present in electoral commissions, at least, and the claims should be considered by groups formed by representatives of international organization.
It should also be noted that President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili during his visit to the USA met with representatives of the Georgian community.
Saakashvili told the natives of Georgia living in the USA about the transformations that happened in the country and further prospects of the republic.
"Those Georgians who live abroad understand perfectly what process are developing in Georgia", - he added.
Besides, Georgian president underlined that less people are eager to leave the country.
