Shevardnadze warned Saakashvili
Former President of Georgia Eduard Shevardnadze advises current President Mikhail Saakashvili to be more careful when expressing his affection for American billionaire Donald Trump. "His relations with the U.S. President Barack Obama are not very good and getting closer with Trump might aggravate them still more, which will negatively affect Georgia in general", - Shevardnadze underlined in his interview to local media. The interview is cited by Business Georgia.
Shevardnadze believes that Barack Obama's not very good attitude to Georgia is revealed by the fact that during his current visit to the USA Saakashvili was not received by the American president. "When I went to some country, the first person of the country thought it necessary to meet with me, which revealed certain attitude to Georgia", - Shevardnadze underlined. In his opinion, the recent joint press-conference between Trump and Saakashvili much resembled a pre-election agitation. "I believe Trump who is going to run for presidency in the USA will lose and Barack Obama will retain his post", - Shevardnadze assured. In the opinion of the former president, Georgia should enhance relationship with the current U.S. administration.
