Georgia to export corn
Georgia will export corn and products made of it. This was reported by Business Georgia with reference to the statement of the Georgian Press Speaker Manana Mandzhgaladze made at a traditional briefing on Tuesday. According to Mandzhgaladze, a number of countries have stated their desire to export the new cultivar of corn from Georgia; Azerbaijan and Turkey being among these countries.
According to the press speaker, the program of assisting corn production in the country involves over 35 thousand individuals and legal entities. Before the end of April 2011, any volunteer may join the program. Corn export will become an important booster for farmers' work, Mandzhgaladze added.
Let us remind you that on March 1, there was launched the program of giving out seeds of the new heavy-crop corn to local farmers.
