Gilauri believes he has led Georgia out of recession

2011-03-30 18:38

Georgia managed to get out of recession. As reported by GHN, such opinion was shared by the country's Prime Minister Nika Gilauri. The opinion was voiced today during the final debates in parliament. "Today we can definitely say that we've led the country out of the crisis and recession, that we managed to protect the country against macroeconomic hazards. This confirms the fact that we developed an anti-crisis plan in due time... Georgian economy has got out of the crisis and an economic growth is obvious", - Gilauri stated. "... When the whole region faced the fall of the pension system and pensions and salaries were reduced, Georgia experienced an economic growth of 6,4% in 2010. Our salaries have grown, and we are going to increase pensions since 1 September 2011", - the prime minister said.

Let us remind you that earlier today, the parliamentary opposition expressed doubts as to the adequacy of the Georgian government and suggested that it should resign in full force. The initiative was voiced by spokesman of the Christian Democrats fraction Levan Vephvadze.
