Georgian ombudsman to provide a report on human rights

15299.jpegToday, a report on the situation with human rights in the country in 2010 will be submitted to the Georgian parliament. As was reported by GHN, Georgian ombudsman Giorgy Tugushi will hand over a document of 600 pages to Speaker of Parliament David Bakradze. The report reflects the situation with human rights last year.


According to Tugushi, the report is rather critical. "The report contains grave assessments of the health system servicing in prisons. It also says that the highest death rate among prisoners was recorded last year. Besides, the report contains the facts of improper treatment on the part of policemen in the course of detention and the problems recorded in the judicial system", - the ombudsman underlined in his interview to the journalists.
