Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Advises the Citizens Not to Visit Syria
The foreign office of Sakartvelo recommends Georgian citizens to refrain from travelling to Syria. According to the Georgian News, this warning was made due to the situation in Syria.
"Those Georgian citizens who are already in the territory of Syria may contact the Georgian embassy in Egypt via a "hot line": +201511088844", informs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Georgia does not have a representation office in Syria, this country is under the authority of the Egypt embassy.
Let us remind you that the situation in Syria worsened in the middle of March this year. The arrest of a group of schoolchildren who drew the anti-government slogans on the walls in the Deraa city became the reason for disturbances. People went out into the streets demanding to free the youngsters. Later the protest actions spread to other regions of the country.
