No Radioactive Cars from Japan in Georgia
Today the first mass radiation control of cars imported from Japan took place in Georgia. As the Business of Georgia reminds, the monitoring of cars was conducted by radiation security experts of the Ministry of the Environment of Georgia. During the inspection the most up-to-date equipment was used.
"That was one more additional inspection considering the public interests. We checked the level of air pollution, gamma radiation and radiation background, which are within the norm and are harmless for human health", - declared Marina Arabidze, Head of the Georgian Department of Environment Pollution Monitoring, in her interview to journalists.
In her words, the main part of exported cars arrives in Georgia exactly from Japan. At this stage there has not been registered a single car with increased background radiation, emphasized Arabidze.
She added that the country toughened the radiation control of all cargos arriving in Georgia from Japan by air or by sea. Air pollution monitoring is also being performed according to a special procedure.
