Ineligible Georgian Arrested in Latvia
The employees of the Latvian border police arrested a Georgian citizen for illegal and for bicycle theft. As the GHN reports with reference to Latvian mass media, a Georgian citizen was arrested by the frontiersman of the Pededze Border Police Department near the frontier in the Aluksne Region.
According to the main inspector of the Coordination and Public Relations Office of the State Border Police Kristine Petersone, some local inhabitants had reported a bicycle theft. Practically following a hot scent the bicycle thief was arrested. It turned out to be a Georgian born in 1983. In 2001 he received a German tourist visa but lost his documents. Afterwards he went to the Czech Republic and in 2009 came to Latvia in an illegal way. It emerged that for almost 10 years, since he had lost his passport, that person stayed illegally in one of the European Union states.
Now the Georgian citizen is arrested under Article 51 of the Law "On Immigration" and was placed to the detention centre of the Aluksne Department of the State Police.
