Georgia Not to Sell Land to Foreigners
The draft law forbidding to sell land to foreign citizens is being submitted by the Georgian Parliament. According to the Business Georgia, the initiator of this legislative initiative is the Labourist Party.
According to the political secretary of the party Georgy Gugava, the draft law developed by the labourists categorically forbids to sell any land to any citizens of foreign countries and to return any of the lands sold before. He said this today during his press conference with journalists.
"Today according to the current law lands can be sold to foreigners, which threatens the national principles because no country may exist without land. In other countries it is forbidden to sold agricultural lands to foreign citizens", noted the labourist.
He added that the draft law will be submitted to the parliament in the nearest days.
