Turkey Wants to Build Four New HPP in Georgia
The Turkish company Atac insaat ve sanayi a.s. expressed its interest in the construction of four new hydro power plants in Georgia. According to the Business Georgia, they are going to build the MAGANA HPP with a capacity of 20,6 Mwt and Lekarde HPP of 20 Мwt on the Magana River. In addition, the Bakhvi-1 HPP with a capacity of 15 Mwt and Bakhvi-2 HPP of 20 Mwt on the Bakhvuistskali River are going to be built in Western Georgia.
The company has already applied for the construction, ownership and operation of the relevant HPP to the Ministry of Power and Natural Resources of Georgia on 4 May.
However, applications will be accepted until June 3, 2011, the Ministry added.
