In the opinion of Mikhail Saakashvili, Georgian state leader, Sakartvelo has all the chances to become the country with the most quick-growing economy in Europe. According to the Business Georgia with reference to an RBK report, Saakashvili voiced this opinion at the recent meeting with Georgian entrepreneurs. The development of power and other infrastructures, agricultural projects and tourism requires special efforts of the Georgian business community, considers Saakashvili.
In his words, in the forthcoming years dozens of power plants will start working in the country and some "green" energy will projects be developed. "Already this year the construction of the Khudoni Hydropower Station, some stations on the Kura, the Vartsikhe Hydropower Station has started. This or next year the construction of the Namakhvani complex will start", he emphasized.
"Wind power plants will be certainly constructed, particularly in Djavakheti, which will produce a total of several hundred megawatts of electric energy", added the President.
Saakashvili also associates his hopes with the agricultural sector of the country. "The potential of the Georgian agricultural sector is such that it can be doubled and tripled, and we will be coming to it subsequently. Not an inch of unplowed land should remain. The country should feed itself, but agriculture is in desolation and lagging behind", emphasized the Georgian leader.
