Turkish citizens took Georgian hostage
Having seized a resident of Georgia as a hostage, two Turkish citizens were going to get a ransom for him. As was reported by Novosti Georgia, officers of the Constitutional Safety Department at the Georgian MIA managed to arrest the kidnappers.
They are Muhammed Onder and Mustafa Aigun. In the Turkish town of Ardashen, they took a citizen of Georgia Emzar Vashakmadze hostage; they threatened with fire weapon and demanded a 30-thousand-dollar ransom from his family. As was reported at a briefing before the journalists by Deputy Head of the Constitutional Safety Department Soso Topuridze, the criminals were close to killing the hostage.
"During the detention, Mustafa Aigun offered armed resistance and tried to kill Gocha Tsiteladze; however, the operation on liberating the hostage was successful", - Topuridze stated. The operation was held in the region of the Georgian-Turkish border. The Turkish citizens are facing up to 20 years of imprisonment.
