Burjanadze's husband was sentenced to two months of imprisonment
Today, the former chief of Georgian Border Police, and at the same time the husband of Georgian opposition leader Nino Burjanadze - Badri Bitsadze - was sentenced to two months of preliminary detention. According to the "Georgia-News", citing the press service of the oppositional "National Assembly", this decision was made today at a meeting of the Tbilisi City Court.
"According to Nino Burjanadze, the lawyer of her husband husband, Vaso Samushiya, called her and tild about the decision" - the press service said.
Earlier media reported that the family of Bitsadze refused to pay the bail, which was established by the court as a preventive measure. After that the decision on remand was taken.
Now, neither the press service of the opposition movement, nor Interior Ministry of Georgia or the court have reported on the current location of Bitsadze.
Bitsadze was charged with confrontation, threat and violence against the defenders of public order or other government officials with a group, which took place at the actions of protest of the "National Assembly" on the night of May 26.
