The interim report of the EU in Georgia showed the high level of corruption at the political sphere of the country.
According to the "PirWeli", the European officials said that earlier in Georgia there was fixed a more successful combating against corruption, which excluded conflict of interest and acknowledged corruption as a criminal offense increasingly frequently.
"There have been conducted several investigations in connection with corruption and several criminal cases against public officials were opened, but corruption at the political level remains a matter of concern" - the report says.
Also as the deficiencies weak monitoring of party financing, the lack of transparency in public procurement and privatization, lack of accountability of senior officials, as well as the opacity of the media were indicated.
