Early presidential elections in Abkhazia will be held on August 26
On August 26 this year, early presidential elections in Abkhazia were scheduled. According to the "Georgia-News" with reference to the Abkhazian media, this decision was taken at a meeting of the parliament of Abkhazia.
The elections were appointed because of the death of President Sergei Bagapsh on May 29 in Moscow on 63-year life.
Official Tbilisi has not commented on the upcoming elections in Abkhazia. "Nobody have a right to hold the separatist elections in Georgia ... Such elections, from the standpoint of international law, are illegitimate and have no legal basis ..." - not once has underlined the viewpoint of the Georgian government Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Nino Kalandadze.
