Today there was announced about the beginning of the hunger strike by a representative of the "Conservative Party" of Georgia Lasha Chkhartishvili. According to the "Georgia-News", he was detained on Sunday while trying to conduct protests in central Tbilisi, which was dedicated to the premiere of the film "Five Days in August", where the Hollywood stars have come. About the beginning of the hunger strike of Chkhartishvili the reporters were told by the representative of the "People's Party" Alexander Shalamberidze.
He also noted that all other participants of Sunday's action have been fined, although they and Chkhartishvili have been convicted of disorderly conduct and disobeying police. But Chkhartishvili, for whom there was elected administrative detention for ten days as a preventive measure, is located in jail in Gori now.
"Chkhartishvili does not consider himself guilty and demands that on the basis of non-governmental organizations' information, the Ministry of Internal Affairs formally recognize the missing without a trace part of the protesters on the night of May 26 and declared them to search" - said in an interview Shalamberidze.
He also added that Chkhartishvili considers necessary the creation of a competent commission to "investigate crimes of the authorities during a crackdown of rally of the "National Assembly" on the night of May 26.
