Georgia supported a new candidate to the head of IMF
The Georgian leadership expressed its support to the candidate to head the International Monetary Fund - the Finance Minister of France Christian Lagarde. About this the "Business-Georgia" reported, citing the statement of the President of the National Bank of Georgia George Kadagidze.
As recalled by Radio "Kommersant", the procedure for choosing a new managing director of the International Monetary Fund should be completed before June 30 this year.
Recall, on May 19 former head of the Fund, Dominique Strauss-Kahn, resigned from his post in the wake of a sex scandal. Before the end of his term as head of the IMF two months remained.
