Head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly met with Georgian opposition.
In Georgia a meeting of the representatives of the opposition sector of the country with the head of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly Petros Efthymiou took place. According to "Trend", the sides have discussed the progress of democratic processes in Sakartvelo.
As the leader of the "new rights" David Gamkrelidze noted after the meeting in an interview, this talks were interesting. "He had questions about media freedom and the upcoming elections" - said Gamkrelidze.
The conversation was also about the possibilities and importance of the restoration of the OSCE mission in Georgia. "He has reiterated the readiness of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly to do everything possible to override the veto of Russia. This organization is ready to assist Georgia in democratic development" - said Gamkrelidze.
"I think that such information they received from the government, is one-sided and does not reflect the real picture about the state of democracy in the country. We have also talked on necessity to increase pressure from the OSCE on the Georgian authorities to improve the electoral environment" - said in turn, Secretary General of "Free Democrats" Irakli Chikovani.
