George Ugulava: Georgia needs "upgraded Misha"
Mayor of Georgian capital George Ugulava has announced possible plans of the ruling "United National Movement" in the country at upcoming presidential election.
Ugulava, considered one of the most likely candidate for the presidency after the expiration of the current president, Mikhail Saakashvili, stressed that the question of the single candidate from the "National Movement" is still open.
"At this point there are different speculations, but the question of who will be nominated from the party "National Movement" in the presidential election is open. It is premature to make predictions on this point. For us - for me, Mikhail Saakashvili and other leaders of the party - it is more important not where we will be in the years 2013-2114, but what will happen to the state" - said in an interview with Telegraf.lv the mayor of Tbilisi.
George Ugulava also expressed his confidence that the population supports the policy of the ruling party. "People need a continuation of the course, which was taken by Mikhail Saakashvili. And that's the main mistake of our opposition which offers anti-Misha, but people want "upgraded Misha" - he added.
