In Brussels the event of May 26 in Tbilisi are going to be discussed
Today in Brussels they will discuss the tragic events in Tbilisi on May 26 when police dispersed a protest of the "National Assembly". According to official data, during the events two people were killed, among them - one policeman.
The current discussion of the events will take place within another Dialogue on Human Rights (Human Rights Dialogue) between Georgia and the EU. The agency "Trend" reported about this, referring to the EU Head of Mission Philip Dimitrov.
As noted in the EU, the protection of human rights in Georgia is still of great interest to European structures.
"The EU is awaited with great interest the information on further achivements in this direction" - said in a statement the EU.
"Dialogue between EU and Georgia is a bilateral process, which gives the sides an opportunity to acknowledge achievements and to put problematic questions" - said in an interview Dimitrov.
"At the Dialogue there will be reviewed a broad range of issues, including the events on May 26 and the statements on the use of disproportionate force by the Georgian police, as well as the ratio to the mass media in Georgia" - said in a statement.
