The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia is going to change the preventive measure for Bitsadze
The Georgian Prosecutor demands to change the preventive punishment for the former head of Border Police of Georgia Badri Bitsadze, who is the spouse of one of the leaders of the "National Assembly" Nino Burjanadze, on the remand. "Georgia-News" reported about this in reference to a statement of the Chief Prosecutor's Office.
The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia appealed to the court, that because of violations of the conditions of selected preventive measures (bail), to change the preventive measure against the accused Badri Bitsadze on the remand"- said in a statement of the prosecutor's office.
Recall, Bitsadze was charged on second part of the 353rd article of the Criminal Code of Georgia - the confrontation, threat or violence against the defenders of public order or other authorities, carried out by the group. Bitsadze was accused of illegal actions during the rally of the "National Assembly", held in Tbilisi and dispersed by police on the night of May 26.
The punishment under this article of the Georgian Criminal Code provides for imprisonment for a term of four to seven years.
As a preventive measure for Bitsadze the court has sentenced a bail of 100 thousand GEL; bail payment period expired on June 7. However, his wife Nino Burjanadze has refused to repay the money.
