Georgia took 47th place of "Failed States Index 2011"
In the rating of "Failed States Index 2011", which was published by the American Foundation for Peace and the magazine "Foreign Policy", Georgia took 47th place.
As the "GHN" recalled, "Failed States Index 2011" assesses the level of inability of authorities to monitor the integrity of the territory, and to evaluate demographic, political and economic situation in the country. In the list there are 177 countries.
Relatively low place of Georgia in the ranking is explained by the presence of conflict regions in the country, experts say.
Among the Caucasian countries Armenia took 101st place, Azerbaijan - 63rd.
Somalia was recognized the most dysfunctional country in the world, the next are Chad and Sudan. These countries have taken the first, second and third places.
The most sustainable and efficient is Finland - 177th place. The U.S. is at 158th. Japan - 164th place. Germany took 162nd place. Russia occupies the 82nd position.
