The case of Fuchs and Frenkel will review the Court of Appeal
Consideration of case of Israeli businessmen Roni Fuchs and Zeeva Fraenkel, detained in Georgia, will continue. As reported by "Trend", the case will now consider the Tbilisi Court of Appeal. According to the lawyer of buisnessmen Archila Kbilashvili, now the court must answer the defense motion to question about interrogation of Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri at the process, as well as former Finance Minister Kakha Baindurashvili.
"We also demand them to attach report prepared by Turkish expert to the case. The prosecutor's office asked for a term until June 22 for consideration of this petition, so that today we will know their response" - said the lawyer.
Recall, Israeli businessmen have been detained in Georgia on October 14, 2010 on charges of attempting to bribe Deputy Finance Minister Avtandil Sakartvelo Haraidze.
The verdict in the case of Roni Fuchs and Zeeva Fraenkel was announced on April 1 this year. According to the decision of Tbilisi City Court Roni Fuchs was sentenced to seven years in prison, Zeeva Frenkel - to six years in prison. In addition, both should pay the penalty. This decision was adopted pursuant to paragraph 3, of the 339th article of the Criminal Code of Georgia - act of bribing to government officials.
