The Federation Council has ratified a border treaty between Russia and Azerbaijan
Treaty between Moscow and Baku, which enshrined the line of mutual land border from points of the joint of borders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Georgia to the Caspian Sea, has been ratified at the meeting of the Federation Council. This was reported by "Trend", referring to RIA Novosti.
This border lines corresponds to the former administrative border between Dagestan ASSR and Azerbaijan SSR, was noted in a memorandum to the ratified document.
The agreement was signed in Baku on September 3, 2010, and Russia became the first country with which Azerbaijan has signed a border treaty.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry has repeatedly stressed that Russia and Azerbaijan have no territorial claims.
The total length of the Russian state border is about 60 thousand kilometers.
