NDP wants Okruashvili would have been extradited from France
Today at the plenary session of the Georgian Parliament National Democratic Party plans to announce the request for extradition of co-chairman of the "Georgian Party", the former defense minister Irakli Okruashvili to Georgia. As reported by "Trend", this step was provoked by the case of creating an illegal armed group by some members of the "Georgian Party", which was announced on the eve by the representatives of the Interior Ministry.
The Ministry also released a video of confession of several detainees accused of creating armed group, as well as audio recordings of telephone conversations with Okruashvili. In this testimony there was made public information that Okruashvili had intended to return to Georgia with the help of special forces in Russia.
According to a representative of the NDP in parliament Guram Chahvadze, this is not only political issue but also the issue of legal responsibility of Okruashvili and they must demand his extradition from France.
"Based on new reality, Georgia should demand from the French authorities to extradite Okruashvili, and he appear before the Georgian justice" - said a representative of the NDP.
