Malaysia resumes hearing on the case of the citizen of Georgia
The resumption of hearings on the case of a citizen of Sakartvelo Darejan Kohtashvili accused of drug trafficking, is scheduled for today in the Malaysian capital. As recalled by the agency "Trend", the interests of the Georgian citizen represents a local lawyer. Malaysian Law Center helps him in preparing the materials in this case. Even before the process the center stood for cancelling the death penalty for crimes in the field of drug trafficking.
According to the existing laws of Malaysia, the death penalty threatens another citizen of Georgia - Babutse Gordadze, who was arrested for the same crime.
Recall, Gordadze was arrested in Malaysia in October 2010, after drugs were found in her baggage. Along with her there was also detained Darejan Kohtashvili.
Hearing on the case of Kohtashvili in April this year was deferred pending clarification of all circumstances.
