Criminal case was instituted against Okruashvili
Criminal case was instituted against former Defence Minister, co-chairman of "Georgian Party" Irakli Okruashvili, now living in France. "Georgia-News" reported about this with reference to the Ministry of Justice of Georgia, which is under the jurisdiction of Office of the Prosecutor.
Charges against Okruashvili were nominated on the first part of the 223 th article of the Criminal Code of Georgia - the creation or leadership of illegal armed groups.
"In the statutory deadlines Georgian prosecutors will appeal to the court to select a preventive measure for the defendant" - the Justice Ministry reported.
The penalty on this article provided in the form of imprisonment ranging from six to nine years.
