The UN General Assembly vote on Georgia
As expected, today, June 29, the UN General Assembly voted for the resolution on the status of displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia. As the "Trend" reported referring to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, the number of countries supporting the resolution this year has increased.
According to Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Nino Kalandadze, this issue is annually raised at the UN General Assembly by the Georgian side. This is a humanitarian document rather than political, stressed Kalandadze.
The purpose of the resolution is to return displaced persons and refugees to safe places of residence.
