In Georgia, paternity will be established on the basis of genetic examination
Georgian authorities have changed the rules for establishing paternity in the country. According to the "GHN", they have made amendments to the "Civil Code". Now a biological (genetic) or anthropological study become crucial in establishing paternity.
According to existing norms of law, being in establishing paternity the court takes note of the housekeeping of mother and the defendant, as well as joint training and child care.
Under the new rules, if you can not establish paternity through a biological assessment, the court takes in account the fact of cohabitation and child-rearing of mother and the person who claims the right to paternity.
In addition, if the court took into account the earlier testimony of sides, the decision will now be imposed on the results of biological research.
