GWP: Drinking Water in Tbilisi meets all necessary standards
The Georgian Water and Power company (GWP), which is the main supplier of drinking water in the Georgian capital, categorically denies the earlier spreaded information that it supplied the city contaminated drinking water of poor quality.
As the "Georgia-News" reported, on the eve such reports appeared in local media. In these articles, some public organisations claimed that drains fall into the drinking water. In addition, posters with warning about this appeared in the city streets.
"With full responsibility I declare that the water, that flows from the taps of the residents of Tbilisi and which they drink, meets all national standards and recommendations of the World Health Organization" - said in a statement GWP.
"Accordingly, any information or irresponsible statement, which calls into question a compliance with the required standards of quality of drinking water, is a complete disinformation" - said in GWP.
