Georgia is satisfied with the current grain crop
The Georgian Ministry of Agriculture has reported about record for the past 10 years grain crop this year. According to "Business-Georgia", the Office believes that this is the merit of the government's plan, within which, high-quality seeds of wheat were imported from the U.S.
Those farmers, who have used the American seeds, have collected at least 4 tons of wheat per hectare. This has greatly increased the average rate of crop capacity for the entire country.
"The program has paid off and as a result we have the greatest yield over the past 10 years. Interest of farmers to the U.S. wheat has also rose" - said Minister of Agriculture Bakur Kvezereli. He added that American seeds were has justified itself in Georgia and this year Georgian farmers harvested at least 4 tons of wheat per hectare. Quality of seeds ensures high yields even in three years.
In addition, according to Kvezereli, a renewal of agricultural machinery played its role in the successful harvesting.
