Germany became an interested in the "Case of photographers"
On the eve German Ambassador to Georgia Ortvin Hoenig made a statement in which he demanded fair and transparent conduct of the case of photographers detained in Georgia. As the agency "Trend" reported about this referring to the German Embassy in Georgia, the statement was voiced during a meeting with Deputy Interior Minister of Sakartvelo Ekaterine Zguladze.
The Ambassador became interested in this matter, as one of the detainees - Zurab Kurtsikidze - is a member of the EPA, whose headquarters is located in Frankfurt, Germany.
"The Ambassador met with the Georgian Interior Ministry in order to obtain information. He demanded that the trial of this case was conducted transparently and objectively, and the public was informed" - the German embassy said.
Also, German journalists became interested in the "case of photographers".
Recall, the other day the Georgian Interior Ministry arrested four photojournalists, including a personal photographer of President Saakashvili for allegedly spying. The fifth detainee - photographer of "Associated Press", was later released.
