Tbilisi protests against the visit of Serdyukov to Sukhum
Georgia's Foreign Ministry has expressed protest against the visit of Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov to Abkhazia. As the "Georgia-News" reported, according to Tbilisi, the Russian side does not comply with international obligations, and the Minister Serdyukov has arrived in Abkhazia "in violation of the Georgian state border and with the aim to inspect the "occupation regime" established by Russia".
"The so-called visit of Russian Defense Ministry to the territory of "occupied Abkhazia" has unequivocally confirmed that Russia had no intention and doesn't intend to fulfill its international obligations, including the ceasefire, of 12 August 2008" - Georgian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
"This is reflected in acceleration of construction of military bases and troops concentration - not only parts of the Ministry of Defence but also of the Federal Security Service, and the placement of offensive missiles" - said in the Georgian Foreign Ministry.
"At the "occupied territories" there were actually created shock military groups and this fact confirms the aggressive plans of Russia towards Georgia" - said further the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Georgia demands Russia to stop the militarization of the territories of Georgia, to comply with the pledge not to use force and to begin the process of complete "de-occupation", noted the representatives of the Georgian Foreign Ministry in a statement.
