Georgian Interior Ministry has dismissed 4 employees for abuse of power on May 26
In connection with the events that took place on May 26 at Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi, four employees of Georgia law enforcement agency were dismissed, 11 employees were reprimanded. "Georgia-News" reported about this, referring to the head of information-analytical department of MIA of Georgia Shota Utiashvili. He announced this information at a briefing to reporters.
"Order of the Minister on 14 July, four employees of the ministry were dismissed, one was demoted, three employees received a severe reprimand and eight employees were reprimanded" - said Utiashvili.
According to him, this decision was based on the investigation of the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia on the possible use of force by law enforcement agencies.
Recall, the protest of the "National Assembly" was dispersed on the night of May 26 with using water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets and batons. Among the demonstrators there were killed and wounded persons.
