Journalists will support arrested photographers with whistles
Today, "Alia Holding" is organizing another protest rally in support of media workers photographers arrested for spying. As the "Georgia-News" reported referring to agency InterpressNews, it is scheduled for 16:00 local time in front of Gldani prison. During the current action, the participants will express their support and solidarity with the prisoners with seven-minute series of whistles.
As one of the editors of "Alia holding" Dmitry Tikaradze has added, the participants of the action will be wearing shirts with the inscription "No Pictures, No Democracy". Among the protesters there will be members of the Charter of journalistic ethics and of the Coalition "For advocacy of the media."
"Journalists have not stopped the actions even after the confession of photographer George Abdaladze, who was the last of photographers, accused of spying, has pleaded guilty. Now an expression of solidarity is even more necessary - not only solidarity with Abdaladze and other detained photographers, but also with free journalists in general" - Tikaradze said.
According to him, media workers will not cease to hold rallies until the authorities will present specific and credible evidence against the photographers or set them free.
