Security of the Georgian embassy in Kiev was reinforced
Ukrainian authorities have reinforced security of the Georgian embassy in Kiev. As the "GHN" reported, usually the embassy is guarded by two security employees of diplomatic missions. A common practice is when a country protects the outer perimeter of embassies and consulates. However, according to Ukrainian mass media, today there are at least six Ukrainian law enforcement employees, lined up along the embassy.
Reinforcement of security is supposed to be caused by an incident that occurred the day before.
One of the employees of the Georgian embassy in Kiev had beaten the journalist of the "Kommersant" Alexander Yamkovoy during a protest of the movement FEMEN. Activists of the movement have been carrying out a theatrical protest against the detention of "spy photographers" in Georgia. However, women had been expressing their protest being nude, with fake cameras and with inscriptions "press" on their underpants.
At this time a man came out of the embassy. He did not introduce himself, and started to disperse the activists, and then he insulted and attacked one of the journalists, demanding to stop filming the action.
Today it was reported that the Georgian embassy in Kiev has dismissed its aggressive employee.
