UNICEF believes that problem of poverty remains in Georgia
According to experts of UNICEF, the problem of poverty still remains urgent in Georgia. As the "GHN" reported, such preliminary results of a study were presented today at Sakartvelo.
As the representative of Fund Ronald Monash has noted, despite the fact that in recent years Georgia's economy has stepped forward and the government is actively working on social problems, poverty is still relevant. Moreover, many socially disadvantaged families do not receive social assistance.
"Only 3 of 4 disadvantaged families receive assistance" - said the expert.
Nevertheless, he has appreciated the state insurance program. According to Monash, it protects the Georgian population from extreme poverty.
