Moscow will support those "photographers-spies" arrested in Georgia
Today in the afternoon, rally in support of so-called "photographers-spies" arrested in Georgia will be held near the Georgian embassy in Moscow. "Georgia-News" reported about this with reference to the Russian Internet magazine "Fotopoligon". Message about the impending action extends in the social networking site Facebook.
"We believe that the arrest of our Georgian colleagues is the result of prosecution for distribution of journalistic photographs. All those arrested photographers have been shooting mass riots and tough crackdown of rallies in Tbilisi by the security forces in the spring of 2011. Photojournalists managed to shoot the wounded people. Apparently, someone was annoyed and offended the fact that reporters have shown the world what's really going on" - said in a statement of the organizers.
Its purpose is the expression of "civil position in relation to the detention of Irakli Gedenidze, George Abdaladze and Zurab Kurtsikidze accused of spying".
"We are solidary with their position and we demand an end of harassment of reporters" - also said in a statement.
Rally in Moscow is sanctioned by the City authorities. As expected, 30 people will take part in the action.
