Saakashvili: The Kazakhs have not coped with the development of the resort of Likani
According to the head of the Georgian state Mikhail Saakashvili, the investors from Kazakhstan, which has been entrusted to engage in the development of the Georgian Resort Likani, have failed in their obligations. Now, according to Saakashvili, the state must ensure development of resort. Saakashvili, however, did not specify whether they would search for a new investor to start.
According to general director of the Kazakh company "Kazmunay service Georgia" Amanzhol Kusainova, the words of the Georgian president are likely to mean that the state will assist in project implementation. However, Kazakh side has no plans to leave the project the, he added.
According to him, the project is prepared and should be adopted in Kazakhstan. He also clarified that supposedly new resort will be opened in two years.
In turn, according to the head of administration of Borjomi Archil Mikeladze, in Likani nothing new is going on there and they constantly are waiting for begining construction. According to him, such a long process of begining of construction caused substantial damage to the tourist potential of the region.
