Gilauri pleased with the state of inflation in Georgia
According to the Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, government's expectations on decrease of inflation were justified. As reported by the "GHN", this was announced today at a meeting of the Georgian cabinet ministers by Gilauri. He has also announced qualified inflation performances for July.
"Inflation in the 12 months was 8.5 percent. I recall that at the beginning of the year we had a major macroeconomic problem associated with inflation. Inflation rate in April and May was 14 percent. As we predicted all of this was caused by a rise in prices at international markets which later decreased. Therefore, the same happened in Georgia and it has caused a decrease of inflation" - said Gilauri.
The Prime Minister has also expressed a hope that the trend of inflation decrease in Sakartvelo is being continued in August.
Recall, on the eve experts of the National Statistics Service of Georgia had released information that inflation in the country this July was 8.5 percent.
