Russian President: only peace can help Georgian refugees
According to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, only peace can help the refugees from Abkhazia and South Ossetia in order to Abkhazians, Georgians and Ossetians could hold the normal full-fledged dialogue. The meeting of Medvedev with media representatives was related with the third anniversary of the war between Russia and Georgia in August 2008.
"I think we can help them, but this requires to settle peace and to make Abkhazians, Georgians and Ossetians to hold the normal full-fledged dialogue. And then we can solve the most complex issues: problems of refugees, issues of transportation and transit, because all this issues are related with conflict which, unfortunately, occurred in 2008. Consequently, the normal diplomatic work, negotiations and an opportunity to hear each other - all of these is necessary in order to solve these problems. Well, in addition it is necessary to recognize the realities that have developed in the region as a result of events happened in 2008" - said the head of the Russian state.
