In Tbilisi, Interior Minister will be interrogated
Today, the head of information-analytical department of the Georgian Interior Ministry Shota Utiashvili will be interrogated in the Georgian capital. As recalled by Trend, interrogation will be carried out in connection with a criminal case of spouse of the former parliament speaker Nino Burjanadze, the former chief of the Border Police of Georgia Badri Bitsadze.
A summons has already been transferred to Utiashvili and he will be interrogated on August 8, said lawyer Bitsadze Levan Samushia in an interview. "I hope Utiashvili, who has already received the relevant summons, will come to the court" - said the lawyer.
He added that the lawsuit has been going on for two weeks. However, the prosecution witnesses, passing on the case, gave conflicting testimony. According to Samushia, it will be additional evidence for the defense. "The prosecution has interrogated several persons, including an investigator of the case, as well as Gia Uchava and others" - said Samushia.
The trial of Badri Bitsadze is being held daily, except weekends. Bitsadze himself does not present at the process, as he is wanted. He is charged on the creation of illegal armed groups.
