Gryzlov: Saakashvili and his supporters should be on the dock
State Duma Speaker Boris Gryzlov said that the perpetrators of the attack on South Ossetia in August 2008 should be punished.
"We remember and mourn the victims of aggression carried out three years ago by Saakashvili's regime. I believe that the perpetrators of this crime, its organizers and accomplices should sit on the dock and face an international tribunal" - the words of the chairman of the Russian parliament reported by VZGLYAD.
"Due to the position of Russia, which had been formed with the unanimous support of all political forces in the State Duma, today peaceful life is ensured for people in this difficult region" - as he said.
Earlier, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said that Georgian leader Mikhail Saakashvili should be brought before an international tribunal.
At the same time the Russian president had also said that everything what the president of Sakartvelo did is a flagrant violation of international law.
"But given the fact that international community can hardly rely on the position of Russia, I think that the creation of an international tribunal at the moment is unreal" - said Medvedev, adding that the final court will be historic, and the intermediate court will be held by voters of Georgia.
